Rotary Club of Mangalore City: Fostering Community Service and Fellowship

Established on May 7, 2018, Charter Number: 89257

The Rotary Club of Mangalore City has been a vibrant force in the community since its establishment in 2018. As a part of Rotary International, the club actively engages in various projects and initiatives aimed at making a positive impact on society. With a current membership of 31 dedicated individuals, the club is driven by its core values of service, integrity, and fellowship.

The club, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mangalore, operates under Zone 3 (Three). While there are no Rotaract or Interact clubs affiliated with the Rotary Club of Mangalore City, the members are committed to collaborating with other Rotary entities to expand their reach and impact.

One of the club’s ongoing projects, "Save A Life – Basic Life Support Training," has garnered significant attention. This initiative focuses on providing essential life support training to individuals in the community, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to handle emergency situations effectively. The club has documented this project with both photos and videos, showcasing the efforts and impact of their dedicated members.

In addition to regular ongoing projects, the Rotary Club of Mangalore City has also been involved in dist. grant projects. Notably, they have undertaken the renovation of a school’s electrical system, a vital improvement that enhances the learning environment for students. The club has captured the progress of these grant projects through compelling photos and videos, illustrating the transformation brought about by their endeavors.

Although the club has not been involved in global grant projects at present, they remain committed to exploring opportunities for international collaboration and contributions in the future.

The Rotary Club of Mangalore City publishes a weekly magazine titled "City Bits & Bytes." This magazine serves as a platform for members to share club updates, highlight community initiatives, and promote the spirit of Rotary. A specimen copy of the magazine showcases the diverse content and engaging articles that resonate with the club’s mission.

Since its inception, the Rotary Club of Mangalore City has produced exceptional leaders who have guided the club towards its goals. Notable past presidents include Rtn. Dr. Ranjan RK, who served as the Charter President during the club’s inaugural year, and Rtn. Dr. Anil Kumar, who led the club during the Rotary year 2020-2021. Each president has brought their unique vision and dedication to Rotary, leaving a lasting impact on the club and its community.

The club is grateful for the guidance and support of esteemed past Assistant Governors (AGs) and District Governors (DGs). PAG Rtn PHF Sumith S Rao has been a source of inspiration and mentorship for the members.

As the club continues its journey, Rtn PHF Rajendra Kalbhavi serves as the dedicated Club Advisor, offering guidance and support to ensure the smooth functioning of the club’s activities.
